Thoughts on parenting. 6 months in...

Heck, I'm still not ready. It's an adjustment every single day and a huge life change but it does get easier and you get more used to it the more time goes on. Good quote: "Don't worry about doing everything perfect as a mom but focus on all that you can do well." So hard to grasp yet so true!!!! There are a million things to focus on as a mom and none of us can get them all right. We will inevitably screw up in one way or another (or many!). That's why God is the perfect heavenly Father and can reconcile what we get wrong.

There's no way we can know what our child will have to face in the form of illness or what-not (probably good bc we wouldn't want to know!) but what we can do is just pray, pray, and pray some more that WHEN they (and we) face hard times they'll look to God. We can't keep them from pain but we can direct them to the ultimate healing source. We also can't do this parenting thing on our own. It's so hard to selflessly give of your time, heart, and mind every single day but you're never in it alone. FIRST and most importantly you have the supernatural power of God working in you. ("THE SAME POWER THAT RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD IS IN YOU!!!!!!!") And you also have other people (RELY ON THEM!!!!) to help you out. It's overwhelming to think of your job as a parent and how it will never end, BUT it does get easier every day and God helps you through every step.... one diaper, one sickness, one sleepless night (OR 50), one confusing decision, etc etc etc etc at a time. And always remember, God will never give us anything we can't handle!! “I can do ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST who gives me strength!!!!!!”

Lord lead us and strengthen us for whatever may come here on Earth. ABOVE ALL, THANK YOU FOR THE HOPE OF HEAVEN WHERE THERE WILL BE NO WORRIES!!!
